HVAC Contractor in Port Deposit, MD, Helping Overcome Environmental Challenges

Saving Homes from Rock-Wall Humidity & High-Velocity River Winds

Living in Port Deposit is a unique experience—nestled between the towering granite cliffs and the rushing Susquehanna River. However, this beautiful geography creates a "microclimate" that can wreak havoc on standard residential HVAC systems. The stone walls trap heat and moisture, while the river gorge funnels freezing winds directly toward your home in the winter. Moon Air is the specialized HVAC contractor in Port Deposit, MD, engineered to help homeowners defend their comfort against these specific regional forces.

Does your HVAC need rescue? Call us at 410-819-2507 or contact us online.

I. The Moisture Extraction Protocol

In the "Granite Town," humidity doesn't just sit in the air; it clings to the walls. Standard air conditioners often struggle to keep up with the latent moisture levels found in riverfront properties. We counter this with:

  • Whole-Home Dehumidifier Integration: We install high-performance moisture extractors that work in tandem with your AC to maintain a crisp 45% humidity level.

  • Microbial Defense: Damp river air can introduce spores into your ductwork. Our UV-C germicidal light kits neutralize these "space invaders" before they can circulate through your living room.

II. High-Performance Thermal Shielding

When the winter wind "howls" down the Susquehanna, a weak heating system will leave your home feeling like a drafty canyon. As your local HVAC contractor in Port Deposit, MD, we provide heavy-duty thermal solutions:

  • Amana Furnace Installations: We specialize in high-output heating units that are built to handle the intense thermal demands of riverside living.

  • Aeroseal Internal Sealing: Because many Port Deposit homes are historic or have unique vertical layouts, we use aerosolized sealant to "plug" the energy leaks in your ductwork that are physically impossible to reach by hand.

III. The "Moon Rescue" Service Standard

At Moon Air, we don't believe in "robotic" service. Our crew is jovial, upbeat, and genuinely invested in the Port Deposit community. We treat every home like a high-stakes mission, which is why our technicians:

  1. Lead with Candor: We provide a clear, honest report of your system’s health.

  2. Maintain Transparency: Our flat-rate pricing means the price we quote is the price you pay—no "hidden craters" in your bill.

  3. Guarantee Performance: Every project is backed by our 100% Money-Back Guarantee. If your home isn't as comfortable as we promised, we’ll make it right or refund your investment.

Don't let the river elements ground your comfort. Contact the Moon Air team at 410-819-2507 and launch a new era of climate control in Port Deposit today!

"Out of this world service for down to earth prices!"

I performed a thorough maintenance check on the AC system, focusing on the gold club. Although the Delta T wasn't accurately checked due to the absence of nearby ducts, it reached 15 degrees. The filter was in good condition and didn't require replacement. I cleaned the air handler and indoor coil drain pan. The condensate line was flushed but showed signs of blockage, suggesting a small pan treatment. The evaporator coil and blower wheel were clogged with debris, necessitating deeper cleaning. The outdoor unit operated in cooling mode, with voltages and amps within acceptable limits. The outdoor coil was cleaned with water.

Upon inspection, the air conditioning system was found to be non-operational. The voltage relay for the compressor was identified as the failure point. Additionally, a burned-up mouse was discovered over the contactor, obstructing the switch from engaging. The faulty relay was replaced, and the contactor was cleared of debris. Following these repairs, all system operations were verified to be functioning normally, with a Delta T of 20 degrees recorded.

Upon arrival, I identified a disconnect that had been unplugged. After reconnecting the unit, it powered on successfully. The compressor was operational, drawing 15 amps, which is within the expected range of 21 RLA. To ensure stability, I unplugged the power supply, allowed the unit to rest for a brief period, and then reconnected it. The unit started without issues, indicating that the problem was resolved. The work order number for this job was WONFTR674837.

Upon arrival, the air conditioning system was not functioning properly. A thorough inspection was conducted to identify the issue. A detailed leak search revealed a very small leak at the service valves. The repair was executed without breaking the charge, ensuring minimal disruption. The system was recharged with 5oz of 410A refrigerant. After the repair, the unit was started, and operational checks were performed. The system was observed to be running normally, with a delta T of 20⁰ and proper condensation. A final verification confirmed no further leaks were present. The job was completed successfully, ensuring the system operates efficiently. WO-TNFR673396.

Upon receiving the call, I began by thoroughly inspecting the air conditioning equipment to identify any potential issues. Despite not finding any error codes, I continued to examine the system for any abnormalities. After a comprehensive check, no issues were detected. I then guided the customer through the process of resetting the unit. Following this, the system began operating normally. To prevent future issues, I advised the customer to document any error codes they might encounter. The customer has reported that the AC has been running smoothly for the past couple of days.

I conducted a thorough maintenance check on the AC components of the gas furnace. Initially, the delta T was slightly low at 16 degrees, but after the unit operated for over 15 minutes and the outdoor coil was cleaned, it improved to 20 degrees. The air filter did not require replacement. I cleaned the inside of the air handler with an appropriate cleaner and flushed the condensate line to remove any debris. The indoor coil drain pan was already clean, but I recommend applying a small treatment to it for preventive maintenance. The outdoor unit operated in cooling mode, with voltages and amps within acceptable ranges. I also sprayed the outdoor coil with water to remove any trapped debris in the fins.

Upon inspection, the outdoor unit was not operational. No error codes or alarms were present on the Buck booster. I restarted the unit, which then functioned correctly. I reviewed the alarm history, which did not indicate when the issues occurred. Photographs of the faults were taken for future reference. This documentation will aid in identifying any recurring problems during subsequent visits.

I successfully installed a sophisticated main voltage conversion system, complete with integrated voltage monitoring, surge protection, and rectification components. The incoming line voltage was measured at 249V, which was then effectively conditioned and stabilized by the new system, resulting in a clean and consistent operating voltage of 232V. I meticulously cleaned and secured all electrical connections, ensuring the integrity of the wiring. Following installation, I conducted thorough tests to confirm that all components were functioning as intended. The system operated properly and within normal parameters upon completion of the service.

Recently, I successfully completed a project that involved creating a custom art form. The task began with a detailed estimate, which outlined the scope and materials needed. After the estimate was approved, I moved on to the construction phase, meticulously crafting the art piece to meet the client's specifications. Throughout the process, I ensured that every detail was attended to, from selecting the right materials to executing the final touches. The project was completed on time and within budget, and the client was extremely satisfied with the final result. This project not only showcased my artistic skills but also my ability to manage time and resources effectively.

HVAC Professional Service Summary Found system with several error codes stored in system history. System is faulting on over-voltage protection and shutting down as designed by the voltage monitoring device. Incoming line voltage is fluctuating between 248V and 250V. Over-voltage protection is set at 5%. System requires installation of a rectifier/power conditioning device to help correct dirty voltage being supplied to the heat pump system from the home’s main electrical panel. This condition is being caused by the incoming electrical supply and is not considered a manufacturer defect or equipment failure. At this time, the system is operating as designed under the existing electrical conditions.

Over price for 1 hour of work, ask other people what their opinion was about this, most said very over priced. I personally think the charge should have been $150.00 or less

Clay is the technician that usually is assigned to my place. He's always prompt and exceedingly helpful, giving me options so that I can choose the best option based on what I can afford and explains those options. As an aside and nothing to do with Clay but this particular problem started late on July 3rd so I'd called for a appointment. It was scheduled for the next day and then I was told it would cost $259, almost 3 times the regular rate despite the fact that I have a contract. Luckiiy the problem righted itself (temporarily) and I was able to reschedule but I was taken aback that when an emergency occurs a contract customer is treated no differently. I could understand an extra $50 or so but to be charged so much more for an emergency seems excessive. As I said this is unrelated to my satisfaction wit Clay.

Joe was great. He serviced our three units helping to keep them in good working order. I am not happy about the new contract pricing that almost doubles our present costs. I will be looking at other options to service our three units. We are retired and on a fixed income. There should at be a discount based on the fact that all three units are at one location and require one service tech to do the service on one call.
