The float switch was neither up nor stuck open, and there was no continuity when the switch was disengaged. I replaced the EZ trap under warranty, resolving the issue. The system is now operational. Job completed with code 0751.
I successfully replaced two high-efficiency, gold-rated air conditioning units. The process involved removing the old systems, installing new units, ensuring proper refrigerant levels, and conducting thorough testing to confirm optimal performance. Both units were configured to meet energy efficiency standards, providing enhanced cooling and comfort. The job was completed with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
During the service, I identified condensation dripping from the master bedroom wall-mounted unit's refrigerant line. Inspection revealed an improperly sealed wall penetration, allowing warm, humid air to infiltrate and cause condensation. Additionally, sections of the refrigerant lines lacked sufficient insulation. I insulated the refrigerant lines and applied foam sealant to the wall penetration to prevent air infiltration and condensation. To access the Daikin wall unit, I removed a section of quarter-round molding to access the unit cover and cabinet assembly. The system is now functioning properly.

Following this, I applied a duct sanitizer and allowed the unit to run for an additional 30 minutes. During this period, I inspected the unit and tested it in all modes. While testing, I received an alert for a system update, which I promptly performed twice. After updating, I repeated the tests to ensure all unit functions were operating within the manufacturer's specifications, confirming no faults or error codes. I observed the thermostat temperature decrease from 82 °F to 80 °F, with the unit continuing to cool to 77 °F.
Recently, I successfully completed a comprehensive HVAC service project involving the replacement of an aging Gold heat pump. The process began with a thorough inspection of the existing system to identify any issues. Following this, the old heat pump was carefully removed and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. A new Gold heat pump was then installed, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency. Recorded conditions showed suction pressure at 95 PSI, liquid pressure at 255 PSI, and an outdoor ambient temperature of 86°F. The compressor's actual amperage was lower than expected, and the capacitor values were slightly off specifications. Diagnostic testing revealed a malfunctioning refrigerant pressure control system, which is hindering proper refrigerant flow and system capacity, leading to poor cooling performance. I recommend replacing the refrigerant pressure control system to restore optimal operation and cooling performance.
R2C measured at 10, R2S at 1.9, and S2C at 7.2. These readings indicated a fault in the system's electrical integrity. The team promptly addressed the issue by isolating the faulty components and ensuring the system was safely disconnected from power. After thorough testing, the faulty parts were replaced, and the system was reassembled. Post-repair tests confirmed the resolution of the short to ground, restoring the system's functionality.

The refrigerant pumping system is rated at 13.4 Amps but measured at 8.5 Amps, with an LRA of 83.3 Amps (actual 88.2 Amps). The system is functioning as intended. A return visit is required to install remaining clips and fasteners, and to straighten and secure the refrigerant piping.
I conducted a thorough cleaning and inspection of the air conditioning system, focusing on both the indoor and outdoor units. The evaporator and condenser coils, along with the unit cabinets, were cleaned to ensure optimal airflow and heat transfer efficiency. Once the leak is located, the appropriate repairs will be made to restore the system's functionality and efficiency.

After thorough testing, I confirmed that the system is now operating efficiently and reliably. The cleaning process improved the overall performance and longevity of the equipment, and the voltage enhancement components are now functioning optimally. The system is currently running smoothly.

So to the good from a customer service representative experience. After the issues experienced with the first technician I called in and spoke to the service coordinator who within an hour had a service manager on his way to correct the problems of the 1st technician. Paul came out went through the system and completed what we needed as far as cleaning and tune up. Paul took the time to test everything and even discuss questions regarding filter sizes and efficiency questions. Paul resolved what started the day with an absolute negative experience and restored our faith in Moon Air to do the right thing and do the job right.
Greg came out as scheduled. Beyond that the entire experience was less than desirable. He serviced the wrong unit and when it was brought to his attention that he was servicing the wrong unit he made it appear as though he corrected the error and cleaned the correct unit. Technician left with the burner and heater still running with notes stating the thermostat relay needed replaced and notes of needs for the unit we do not use nor have ever had serviced. Sadly this was not a good experience at all.
